About this plugin

A little inspiration for your desk

Daily Quote brings random quotes from the Hitokoto service to your FlyonDeck widgets, with the author or work shown alongside each quote.

  • Choose from 12 categories, including animation, comics, games, literature, original writing, web quotes, film and television, poetry, music, philosophy and humor. Leave all categories unselected to draw from the full collection.
  • Adjust the background, text and accent colors, and your preferred font size. Preview your changes in the settings page.
  • Show or hide the source. Long quotes automatically shrink to fit the widget.
  • Use 2×1, 2×2 or 3×2 widget layouts.
  • Configure automatic refreshes in the settings page.

Quotes and source names come from Hitokoto and retain their original language; changing the interface to English does not translate the quotes.

Getting started

Install and enable the plugin, add a Daily Quote widget to your layout, then open its settings to choose categories and customize its appearance.

The plugin requires network.getJson permission and only requests https://v1.hitokoto.cn. Network requests run in the plugin backend; widget pages read the results through the host data API.
